Dr. Marcos Würschmidt is an equine veterinarian and FEI-certified veterinarian, specialized in sport horse orthopedics, with advanced training in equine sports medicine, lameness diagnostics and performance risk assessment. His clinical work focuses primarily on high-level show jumping and dressage horses, where subtle orthopedic findings may have a significant impact on athletic performance, durability and long-term career value.
Based in Bocholt, Belgium, Dr. Würschmidt provides veterinary services internationally, working mainly across Europe — including Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Norway — and collaborating with professional riders, trainers, owners and international buyers of sport horses.
He has more than 20 years of clinical experience in equine orthopedics and joint pathology, supported by both a Master’s degree (MSc) and a Doctorate (PhD) focused on articular diseases of the sport horse.
His professional approach is fully independent, evidence-based and oriented toward long-term athletic soundness, performance sustainability and informed decision-making in high-performance sport horses, particularly in complex orthopedic cases and high-value purchase evaluations.
